JUNIOR RUGBY
Junior rugby is a massive part of Hinuera Rugby & Sports, with over 250 kids turning out in yellow and black each season. Ages start at four years old (mini midgets), right through to year 8 (13th grade) kids – boys and girls combined. We have a fantastic support network of parents volunteering to coach, and a very generous group of sponsors – their contributions mean that our kids get to play the sport they love for free and they get some really cool kit to do it in too!
Ripper rugby (ages 4 through to school year 2) is played at Wealleans Park, Hinuera and Bedford Park in Matamata on Saturday mornings. Tackle rugby (year 3 upwards) is played in various locations depending on the draw (Putaruru, Tokoroa, Morrinsville, Cambridge) on Saturday mornings.
